Cleansing
- Delivered a national cleansing award resulting in Swansea City Centre being the cleanest in the Country.
- Swansea BID aim to improve the customer experience ad brighten the City Centre. Swansea BID has radically improved the cleanliness and tidiness of the City Centre. As a direct result of Swansea BID’s effort in cleansing projects, Swansea City Centre won The British Cleaning Council City Centre Award 2009/2010 making it the cleanest city in Wales.
- Since August 2011 Swansea BID have teamed up with Swansea Council and cleaning company Revitalise Cleaning to deliver a £30,000 clean-up campaign to reduce gum on the streets of the BID area.
- The focus will be on Wind Street, Oxford Street and Union Street to rid these areas of chewing gum and encourage people to dispose of it more responsibly.
- Revitalise Cleaning partners Andy Peters and Mark Hobbs have developed a unique gum removal system which turns gum to dust.
- The machine is the first of its kind in the UK.
- Two of the devices have been tested and will be used in Swansea over the next six months.
