We are disappointed with the news that Wales is to enter a period of intensive local lockdown from Friday, 23 October until  Monday, November 9, and we know these restrictions place yet more burdens upon our hard-pressed BID area businesses. Clearly, it is important that we all comply with the regulations and that we do what is necessary to support the authorities to bring the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak under control in Swansea.

Working closely with the Local Authority and other agencies, we will continue to support our businesses in any way we can through this difficult time, to ensure they receive the latest information on funding and other support, and to ensure businesses can continue to function.”

Under the new rules:

  • Pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops will shut
  • Leisure businesses, community centres, libraries and recycling centres will close
  • All indoor and outdoor gatherings with people not from a single household are banned
  • Places of worship will be closed for normal services, except for funerals and weddings
  • Primary schools will reopen after half term but secondaries will shut for all but Years Seven and Eight

Please monitor our Swansea BID channels for further updates during this time.
