Free GDPR Workshop, 29th March, at Swansea’s Dragon Hotel, from 3pm until 4.30pm.
Data Protection laws affect everyone in business, and on 25th May a new set of these regulations – GDPR – will come into force across the UK.
A number of our Swansea BID businesses have asked us to hold a BID Benefits Workshop on this important topic, to help them get up to speed, and we are pleased to welcome Jennifer Rosser, Associate Solicitor in Commercial Services at JCP Solicitors, JCP HR Advisor Natasha Johnston, and Ben Wheeler from Copper Bay Creative, to share some of the key points around GDPR to our BID Business members. As ever, this event is free to all Swansea BID area businesses to attend and it will go ahead on 29th March, at Swansea’s Dragon Hotel, from 3 pm.
Under GDPR, all firms, from the large multi-nationals, to SMEs, must take stock of how they collect, store and use any data. This applies to everything from customer details kept on your database, email addresses used to deliver your newsletters, staff information used in the course of recruitment, or details you keep about your suppliers. No company will be unaffected by GDPR and all have a duty to assess what they are doing, make any relevant changes to the way they operate, and evidence how they treat personal data.
The Swansea BID Benefits Workshop will give you the key information about the legal issues surrounding GDPR and what practical measures businesses should take to ensure they are compliant.
If you plan to join us at 3pm, at Swansea’s Dragon Hotel, on 29th March, please email: Amelia Rudman at: [email protected] to let us know.
