With Small Business Saturday heading this way on December 7 and with the festive season in full swing in Swansea, now is the perfect time to encourage people to shop locally, and to support the scores of small businesses in our City Centre.
Latest studies show that for every £1 spent locally, 63p goes back into the local economy, helping to keep our City Centres vibrant and buoyant. Clearly, the more support we can give small businesses the more this will encourage other entrepreneurs to set up in Swansea. This helps to shape a City Centre that has its own unique charm.
Of course, the importance of supporting small business is a message that we should be reminding shoppers about year-round. So, we have created some eye-catching window-stickers that we will distribute to our independent businesses within the City Centre over the next couple of days, to help spread the message that shopping locally saves high streets.
We hope you will display your window sticker and keep them on show long-term – after all, an independent business isn’t just for Christmas, it is for the whole year round!
Here in Swansea City Centre we are lucky enough to have a vibrant mix of independents alongside larger businesses and national brands. And they all play their part in attracting shoppers and visitors year-round, particularly at Christmas, when they are stocked with their most impressive goodies. Let’s support them in any way we can, so they can enjoy a successful season of festive trading!
