Important Announcement - Crime Reporting

South Wales Police (SWP) and Swansea Against Business Crime (SABC) who work in conjunction with Swansea BID have established a powerful partnership with the advanced SentrySIS system a crime and anti-social behaviour recording tool. This partnership aims to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in Swansea City Centre. Active reporting helps shed light on incidents that affect your businesses. As a pilot, SWP is actively monitoring this system, making it imperative for all incidents to be promptly uploaded. The information you provide is invaluable to SWP as they leverage it to gather crucial intelligence, enabling them to proactively address emerging challenges and maintain a strong presence in the community. It should be noted, however, that any incident that requires immediate police presence (someone is a threat, risk or harm) 999 should be used together with the 101 system.

This collaboration between SABC, the police, and BID members aims to reduce crime and ASB in our City Centre. SentrySIS enables business owners to report incidents in no more than 5 minutes, as well as allows you to provide information on the names of those who have been involved in previously recorded incidents. By providing information about what is happening on our streets your support and active involvement will enable the BID and the police to act and, in the long term, make Swansea City Centre a better place to work, visit, and shop. The system and processes SABC has put in place have enabled one of the troublesome ASB characters to be arrested as soon as he was seen acting in a manner contrary to his bail conditions. This took place within a couple of hours timeframe of prison release.
