We all know Swansea is the only place to be on Beaujolais Day, and on Thursday, November 15, the City Centre will be overflowing with options for people planning a great night out.

One of the biggest celebrations of the year in Swansea, raising a glass to the first wine of the season from the Beaujolais region of France, this year sees Swansea BID area Businesses including La Brasseria, Morgans Hotel, The No Sign Wine Bar, The Hyst, Juniper Place, Meatery & Martini, The Slug & Lettuce, Hogarths, Li’l London The Bucket List and Peppermint, rolling out the red carpet for party-goers.

Amelia Rudman, Projects Manager with Swansea BID said: “We’re delighted to see so many Swansea BID businesses carrying on the great Beaujolais Day tradition in the City Centre. There are as many theories around why Swansea is the UK hotspot for Beaujolais Day, just as there are around the origins of the term Swansea Jack.

“We think Swansea has always seen itself as a unique, quirky place, with a very individual identity and approach to life. Embracing Beaujolais Day is typical of this independent spirit.

“We do know that Beaujolais Day is one of the key calendar dates for City Centre businesses and the event is very good for the local economy as a whole, be it across clothing, the beauty businesses, and of course hospitality.
