Swansea city centre will look blooming lovely for St David’s Day, with Swansea BID installing giant daffodils in various locations from 26 February – 1 March, to encourage visitors to share selfies and St David’s Day content.

The trail of 10, 6m tall daffs will sprung up at Swansea Quadrant, The Arcade, and The Grand Hotel. Please get involved in this promotion as BID area businesses by liking and sharing our Big Heart of Swansea social media content across your own channels and encouraging visitors to tag in @BigHeartSwansea. Our Big Heart of Swansea brand will run a St David’s Day competition to win £50 to spend in Swansea city centre via the Gift Card. Why not encourage your customers to enter?

Andrew Douglas, Operations Manager from Swansea BID, said: “The daffodil is, of course a unique symbol of Welshness and this giant daffodil trail will bring sunshine to the city centre. I hope this promotion will boost footflow, raise a smile and remind visitors, consumers and our BID area businesses that we have many reasons to be cheerful here in Swansea city centre.”

Swansea BID is also a sponsor of the Croeso event that unfolds in Castle Square from Friday 25 – Saturday 26 February, 11am to 4pm. Croeso will see food and drink, cooking demonstrations, live music, street entertainers and more going ahead. Don’t forget to encourage visitors to hop onto the free bus into the city centre to enjoy the event. They can also take advantage of the city centre parking offer after 9.30am at all Council car parks of :
£1 for up to 2 hours
£2 for all day

The giant daffodils initiative was part-funded by the Welsh Government Transforming Towns Town Centre Business Fund.
