Swansea City Centre’s Independents Quarter is looking blooming lovely, thanks to the installation of scores of vibrant hanging baskets by Swansea BID.
The colourful additions to Nelson Street, Union Street, Plymouth Street, Picton Arcade, Shoppers Walk and others have been installed to make the area more inviting during the spring and summer, with Independents Month just around the corner, throughout the whole of July.
Amelia Rudman, Swansea BID’s Projects Manager, said: “Swansea BID is always looking for creative ways to support its businesses, and funding these beautiful hanging baskets is a great way of prettifying one of the most important areas of the City Centre. We know that consumers and shoppers really value the scores of independents we have in the City Centre. We want to give these unique businesses a boost, and help to give the area an even more inviting atmosphere.
“We are looking forward to marking Independents Month in July – a time when Swansea BID encourages more shoppers and visitors to show their love for our independents and to make the most of them. We are blessed with family-run butchers, grocers, cafes, restaurants, fashion outlets, delis and much more in our City Centre. Let’s not overlook them. We would encourage Swansea residents to look out for our Independents Month competition across BID and Big Heart social media channels, designed to encourage consumers to rediscover our independents.”
