Do you want to get under the skin of our fine city? Swansea BID has got an app for that.
The free Swansea Real Town Tour app has just been launched by Swansea BID, taking users on a tour of the highlights, hidden gems and lesser-known spots in Swansea City Centre – from its castle to its cafes and from its arcades to its art galleries.
The tour features 30 stops, starting at Swansea’s flagship gallery, the newly-revamped Glynn Vivian, and ending at the West Glamorgan Archives, taking in St John’s Chapel, The Grand Theatre, Swansea Market, Wassail Gate, the castle dungeon and more, sharing fascinating insights and historical facts along the way. The app includes inbuilt audio voice-overs, up-to-date weather information, locations offering free Wifi and more.
Swansea BID Chief Executive, Russell Greenslade, said: “This is a fantastic new tool that puts Swansea directly in the spotlight. Here at Swansea BID, the team has already enjoyed following the Swansea Real Town Tour. An app like this is a great way of learning more about the city we love in an enjoyable, interactive way – a walking app like this helps to keep you fit too.
“I would encourage everyone who loves Swansea already to download the app and try it out for themselves, and I think the Swansea Real Town Tour will be a great tool to encourage visitors and newcomers into Swansea City Centre, helping them discover why we are so passionate about our city.”
